Dayton South Veterinary Clinic

Dayton South Veterinary Clinic

Dayton South Veterinary Clinic was founded by Dr. Aubrey Wyatt in the fall of 1977. The original practice was located on the corner of Stroop Road and Wilmington Pike in a small renovated gas station and car wash. In late 1994, Dr. Daniel Brauer purchased the practice from Dr. Wyatt. The summer of 2000, Dr. Brauer purchased a piece of land at 3200 Wilmington Pike and built the practice's current home.

Dr. Daniel Brauer is a 1991 graduate of  The Ohio State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. He did his undergraduate studies at Wright State University. Dr. Brauer is a first generation American in his family of German descent.  He grew up in Dayton and knew he wanted to become a veterinarian at a young age.  Dr. Brauer has a special interest in exotic and avian medicine and over 25 years of experience treating these unique species.  He has performed countless procedures and surgeries on all types of exotic & avian species.  He currently shares his home and farm with a Great Dane and 2 long haired miniature dachshunds.  Dr. Brauer also raises black angus beef cattle and has numerous chickens, who provide farm fresh eggs daily.  When not working, he spends most of his time on the farm caring for the animals as well as gardening and landscaping. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Ohio Veterinary Medical Association, Miami Valley Veterinary Medical Association, and Association of Avian Veterinarians.

She returned as a veterinarian upon graduation from vet school.  Dr. Schumacher shares her home with 2 long haired miniature dachshunds (who are sisters), a Great Dane, and a rabbit.  Her professional interests include internal medicine, surgery, and preventative medicine.  She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Ohio Veterinary Medical Association, and Miami Valley Veterinary Medical Association.

Sandra RVT has been a Dayton South team member since August 2013 and enjoys caring for the wide range of patient species we see.  She has an associate's degree in veterinary technology from Miami Jacobs and has been a registered veterinary technician since November 2013.  Sandra shares her home with her husband and 3 cats, 2 rabbits, a crested gecko, a quaker parrot, and a rose hair tarantula .  When not working Sandra enjoys music, drawing, coloring, photography, traveling, and volunteering.  She is a member of the Ohio Association of Veterinary Technicians and hopes to one day earn a specialty degree in avian and exotic medicine.
